What Really Matters?
Looking around I see life "re-opening". It's been a long two or three months since the beginning of this Pandemic. No one is celebrating just yet but I think it's worth recapping the events that unfolded since late February and asking the question, "What Really Matters?". I imagine many individuals would ponder this question as the Pandemic would literally force us to ask and re-ask that same question, "What Really Matters?". I am sure those who pondered it or were forced to ponder it did not have lengthy answer. Here is the answer that it drove me to.
What Matters? Not a Lot.
One of my Business Mentors, Dave Meehan, taught me that the word "Priority" was always in the singular until recent times. In other words, the word "priorities" did not exist until modern times. Thus so when you ask the question, "What Matters?" the answer must needs be, "Not a lot". I learned two strong lessons from the Coronavirus:
1) We're not in control as much as we think we are.
2) The fundamental things that matter in life are very few.
Family, Faith, key Friendships, your own Human Formation and Work form important columns upon which your life rests. The person who suggests that he can keep up six major hobbies and raise a tight-knit family while working a challenging job is a farse. Priority is singular.
What Matters to you?
Our Mission at Knots Apparel is to bring you great quality attire that serve more than one person. While you cannot think about drilling wells in Nicaragua to provide clean drinking water for those in need. We do that for you, while you look your best. Priority may be singular but that same focused attitude can serve more people than you can imagine. Do Good. Look Good.
